Have you ever wondered if Ted Nugent cared about what his fans had to say; Or in this case, ask? He sent the answers to your questions back in less than 12 hours! There's a lot to be said about that.
PQ1 What do you do to keep your sanity on the road when times are tough?-
Ted Who says I do? Actually my tours are so enjoyable, so inspiring to create the outrageous music each and every night with my BloodBrothers Mick Brown on drums and Greg Smith on bass, that the only difficulty I face is pacing myself, which after 45 years I certainly have learned to do. I have many hunting friends across the country and we are able to visit and relax a bit here and there.
PQ1 How did SPIRIT WILD RANCH/Hunting for Special Needs Children come about?-
Ted Way back in the late 1960's I was so very moved to be sought out by a young man dying of cancer whose last dying wish was to go hunting or fishing with me that I dropped everything to provide this simple yet emotional request. I have discovered over these many years that many families and particularly young children love our Spirit of the Wild TV show and connect with their ol Uncle Ted to the point where they seek me out at these traumatic emotional times at the end of their short lives. Words fail to adequately convey the incredible spiritual connection with which I am so blessed and the fact that some of our properties like SpiritWild Ranch can be hunted all year long, facilitates these families requests for their dying children no matter what time of year it occurs. I am a very lucky man.
PQ1 What is the biggest and most fun gun you own and like to shoot? (Ex. 50 cal. sniper rifle) Or do you only shoot for hunting?-
Ted For starters, I am the world's #1 Extremist Gun Nut of alltimes, so I get extreme joy from fondling and shooting any and all of my beautiful firearms. I would have to say that my full automatic M4 machinegun is so much fun its stupid! I love brass rainbows and relentless small arms fire. I find it very soothing and in many ways healing in an otherwise goofy world.
PQ1 how did you feel about the group Pantera doing a cover of the amazing song Cat Scratch Fever, and how popular it became?-
Ted I was flattered that a band covered my ultimate R&B lovesong. They were a great band as far as heavy metal Caucasian music goes, much like when the Ramones covered my Journey To The Center of The Mind song from the Amboy Dukes. Lemmy with MotorHead also covered Cat Scratch Fever. I like it.
PQ1 It has been mentioned several times that you do not use drugs and you are a spokesman for D.A.R.E. How is it that you have remained drug free in an industry were it is so prevalent?-
Ted Not only am I smart, but I have been addicted to logic as far back as I can remember, which is way back to my first sparrow with a Red Ryder BB gun at the age of 4. My favorite American DNA is defiance, and I have always defied stupidity and sheeplike suicide deathmarches by braindead fools. I have no peers and nobody can apply pressure upon me. My precious gift of life from God and my sacred temple demand intelligent management. Poisons are for fools.
This is for my dad....How did the hunting for the special needs children come about? He loves to watch your show and it sparked an interest in him! My question is, Can you make a shoutout to Tim in GA from his daughter Anna for Father's Day??
I have family in MICHIGAN that lives close to you they told me you donate vinison to the homeless shelters every year is that true if so that is awsome?
